Steve and Kate Nelson Our New Store
When I was a young boy, my Grandpa was my idol. I was fortunate to spend many of my early summers with him. As I grew up and matured, i wanted to be just like him He owned his own business...a dairy in Pocatello, Idaho. He loved to serve others and provide them the dairy products they needed. Doing so gave him great satisfaction. I learned early on by watching my grandpa, that helping others in some fashion, was what I wanted to do for a living, and if I could do it owning my own business...so much the better.
I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University, graduating in 1973. I had the goal to become a social worker or clinical psychologist, working with and helping people one person at a time. Like so many other things in life...career plans can change, and often do. Mine certainly did.
Kate and I met while I was attending BYU. We married one week after my graduation. Kate earned an Associate Degree in Sociology from Dixie State College in 1971, and was working as a bank teller in Provo, Utah when we met. I too entered the banking industry, holding several positions; a collector, a credit card department manager, a loan officer and then a Credit Union President/Manager. All through those years, I never lost my desire to own my own business in a capacity where I could serve others.
Kate grew up in a home with eight siblings. Growing up in a large family, Kate learned early on that happiness comes from helping and caring for others. Herbs and natural remedies were utilized in her family, rather than prescription drugs. Kate has continued that tradition in our home, with me and our children. Kate and I share a fascination with healthy care, natural healing, and how the human body functions. Not only has my marriage to Kate turned out to be wonderful, so has working in the health food industry. It has been the perfect marriage of our interest and fascination with human health, and our desire to serve and help others.
In 1992 my boyhood dream of owning my own business became a reality. Kate and I opened our first store, Bountiful Nutrition and we operated it for almost 25 years. During those years, many of our customers became our friends. In July 2016 we closed Bountiful Nutrition and attempted to retire. However, we missed our friends, we missed feeling needed, we missed sharing our knowledge, experience, and expertise...we missed helping others. And so, Take Two Nutrition was born. We opened our new store in late 2017. This is our passion and we are delighted to be back in business, serving the Davis County community. We LOVE doing what we do!
You might think that with almost 25 years in the health food industry, there wouldn't be much left for us to accomplish. In some industries, that might be true. In our industry, however, research is on-going.. There is always something new to learn, and new products are continually being developed that may help improve human health. That's exciting to us! That's what we want to offer our customers...the most current, up-to-date health information, cutting-edge products, and the best customer service available.
We’re proud to have produced many years of happy customers and look forward to continuing serving you for years to come!
